La Vie Est Belle is a gourmand built on iris. Blackcurrant and pear open it, then an iris and jasmine heart that gives way quickly to praline, vanilla and patchouli. It is sweet, and it is loud on skin for the first two hours, then settles into a soft warmth that lasts well past dinner. Better in the evening and in cooler months than at noon in Florida. One of the most-gifted bottles in the shop, and one of the few that suits nearly anyone who likes sweet.
