Privacy policy
This page explains what The Perfume Plug collects when you use this site, what we do with it, and how to have it removed. It is short because we collect very little.
What we collect
When you place an order we collect your name, shipping address, email address, phone number and the bottles you bought. We need these to pack the order, ship it, insure it and send you the shipping email with your bottle's batch-code photographs.
When you join the restock list we collect your email address and the bottle you asked about. That is all the list holds.
Our servers keep standard logs: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visited and when. We use them to keep the site running and to spot abuse. They are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
We do not collect or store payment card numbers. See Payment below.
How we use it
To pack and ship your order, answer questions about it and handle a return if there is one.
To send one message when a bottle you asked about lands. That is the only email the restock list sends.
To keep the sales and tax records we are required to keep as a licensed business in Florida.
We do not send marketing email. If you are on the restock list, you get one message about that bottle and nothing else.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
We share it only with the companies that help us run the shop: our payment processor, the carrier that delivers your parcel, the insurer covering the parcel, and the services that host this site and send our email. Each receives only what it needs to do its job and nothing more.
We will hand over information if the law requires it, for example under a court order.
Payment
Payment is handled by our payment processor. Your card details go directly to them and never pass through our servers.
We see the last four digits of the card, the billing address and whether the charge went through. That is enough to match a payment to an order and no more.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie. It holds your shopping bag so the bottles you add stay there while you browse. It contains no personal information and does not follow you to other sites.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
Deleting your data
Email hello@theperfumeplug.com from the address you used with us and ask. We will remove you from the restock list straight away and delete your order details within thirty days.
The one exception is the sales and tax records we are required to keep by law. Those are kept for as long as the law requires and then destroyed.
You can also ask what we hold about you and we will send you a copy.
Under 18
This site is for adults. You must be 18 or older to order, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If you believe someone under 18 has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it.
If a change affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will email the address on your order before it takes effect.
