Red Aoud is Montale's saffron oud. Saffron and cinnamon lead, then agarwood, rose and patchouli, then sandalwood and amber. It is drier and more leathery than Spicy Aoud, with less sweetness and more wood. Longevity is around ten hours and it projects strongly for the first two. Cool evenings suit it. Unisex, and popular with men who want an oud that is unmistakable without being harsh. It sits next to Spicy Aoud on the shelf, and most people compare the two before choosing.
